The exhibition describes 500 years of exclusion, tent life, activism, joy, traditions, music, and the future race. But also the journey from India to Europe, language and cultural heritage. Throughout history, Romans have been exposed to discrimination and persecution.
We are Romans is based on interviews, photos and films made with or by Romans and has previously been shown on the museum of Gothenburg, and other museums. The project is an initiative of the Roma activists Bagir Kwiek and Tereza Eriksson, the journalists Sofia Hultqvist and Cecilia Köljing as well as the photographer Maja Kristin Nylander.
